  Pastor's Desk
Bishop Elect James Terry & Evangelist Shirley Terry
Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ:

I first give thanks to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit for allowing me to shepherd and serve the sheep of Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church for eight wonderful years. God continues to do so many great things for this ministry and I am so thankful that he has placed me as the Angel of this house. God doubly blessed this ministry with my helpmate that stands beside me and help to inspire and encourage the disciples of this ministry. I thank God for her and all that she contributes to this ministry. I encourage my disciples to continue to strive for excellence in kingdom building and genuine love at the River. As pastor of CCMBC, I will continue to teach and train God’s people in the will and love that Christ has shown us. I commend you for being Christians who are Faithful, Available and Teachable. Teaching and preaching are responsibilities God has entrusted me. I am committed to God and to you in sharing the vision God has shown me. I pray God continued anointing upon my life. That I will “…rule well and be counted worthy of double honor…” I Timothy 4:17.

Biography

Do you believe a man can be truly called by called? Pastor James Terry was truly called by God. He was born to the Mrs. Betty L. Terry & the late Mr. Samuel F. Terry Sr., who loved, cared, trained, and prayed him into the man he has become today. He has been a disciple of the Leverette Hill Baptist Church his whole life under the leadership of the late Pastor O’Hara and currently Pastor T.W. Neal and Lady Connie J. Neal. He started teaching Sunday school at the age of 13 and delivered his first sermon entitled “Shadows of Tomorrow” at age 17. He graduated from Central Talbotton High School in 1973 and went on to be a family man by marrying Shirley Weaver on July 8, 1979. From this union he has fathered two children, Emiko and Angelina Terry. He is also the grandfather of 3 beautiful granddaughters; Nakiyah, Kaylan and Sydney Terry. He decided to extend his knowledge and return to seminary school where he received an Associates and Bachelors Degree of Theology. He is now the Pastor of the Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church also known as “Cane River”. He has been there 17 years and is continuing to lead with his wife Leading Lady Shirley Terry in spiritual knowledge, love, wisdom, prayer and support. He truly has a Pastor’s Heart!
